Some Commercial motorcyclists popularly called “Okada Riders” have  staged a peaceful protest on major roads in Osogbo, Osun state to protest the lingering fuel and new naira scarcity in the country.

The protesters who were in their hundreds on Friday carried placards with various inscriptions such as “We’ve suffered Enough”, “No Cash No Food” and “Provide Petrol, Don’t Push Us Out Of Business”,

Leader of the okada riders who did not mention his name said the peaceful protest was to draw government’s attention to their sufferings especially difficulty in accessing new naira notes in banks, fuel scarcity and the high cost of food items with a to getting lasting solutions to them.

There was high presence of security agencies including operatives of the Osun State Police Command, the NSCDC, the Nigerian Army and others, ensuring free-flow of traffic at the round about, centre of the community.
