The new commissioner of police, Adamawa State Command, Mr Babatola Adeniyi Afolabi has assumed duty.

Afolabi was recently posted to Adamawa from the force headquarters where he served as the C.P in charge of Anti Human trafficking.

This seemed like homecoming for the top Police Officer having served as an Area Commander Yola, Adamawa State, Commander few years back.

In a statement, the state’s Police Public Relations officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, described the new CP as a passionate, versatile and experienced police officer who has served in multiple units of operations, investigation and administrative departments.

SP Nguroje urged the good people of Adamawa State to continue to support the police in order to achieve the desired result of protecting lives and property in the State.

The new Adamawa CP holds a Bsc.in Mass Communication from the prestigious University of Lagos and Masters Degree (MPA) in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.

C.P Afolabi served as an Aid De Camp (ADC) to Former Governor of Ondo , Late Dr. Olusegun Agagu, Commander Nigeria Contingent in Kosovo, Bosnia and Dafur.

He was appointed into the Nigeria Police as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 1990.
He served as an Area Commander Yola, Adamawa State, Commander (16)PMF Akure, Ondo State, Commander (53) PMF Bama, Borno State, Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Yobe State and CP in charge of Anti Human trafficking Abuja before deployment to Adamawa.

C.P Afolabi who hails from Epinmi Akoko in Ondo state is married to Mrs Oluwatoyin Afolabi, a Director in the Ondo State Civil Service.

The marriage is blessed with many children and grandchildren.
