The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has presented over thirty-seven point nine million naira cheques to fifty-two families of police personnel of Niger state command who died in active service from twenty nineteen to year twenty twenty two.
Presenting the cheques to the next of kin and family members, under the IGP Family Welfare and Group Life Assurance Schemes,in Minna the IGP expressed shock over the recent unfortunate incident where the command lost some of it’s personnel in active service.
Represented by the Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state Mr Ogundele Ayodeji the Inspector General of Police prayed Allah to give families of the deceased fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
IGP Usman Alkali Baba explained that losing personnel in the line of duty is a painful experience and applauded them for making the police their family and Nigeria proud.
The Commissioner of Police also appreciated the IGP for his effort in providing succor and relief to the families of deceased personnel, stressing that the money would go a long way in assisting them in no small measure to ease their hardship.
Speaking on behalf of the families, Daniel Asar and Abubakar Moh’d appreciated the IGP, the Commissioner of Police in Niger state and particularly, the Insurance officer of the Command for their efforts towards getting the claims.
The Command’s clergymen Supretendant of Police Yakubu Tahir and Supretendant of Police Ebede Tobechukwu prayed for the families and the reposed of the departed souls.
