Nigerian Army has pledged a secured environment for peaceful conduct of the general election in Ondo and Ekiti States
The Brigade Commander, 32 Artillery, Owena cantonment, Akure, Brigadier General Muktar Adamu made the pledge
during the West African Social Activities WASA, of the Brigade
WASA is the military annual event bringing together Nigerian army officers, soldiers and their families together for social interaction to enhance civil-military interaction
Brigadier General Adamu also cautioned thugs and other trouble makers to stay away or be ready to face the full weight of the law
The Brigade Commander who however encouraged the eligible voters to come out en masse and exercise their franchise without any intimidation appreciated families of the officers and soldiers for their support in the out gone year .
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who was represented by his adviser on security matters, Chief Adetunji Adeleye commended the military personnel on the bridge building event and pledged government’s continued support.
High points of the occasion were inspection of quarter guard, award presentation, cultural display, tug of war, lighting of bonfire among others
The event had in attendance military and paramilitary personnel including NSCDC commandant, Commander olatundu olayinka , traditional rulers , Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo of Akure kingdom and Oba Victor Kiladejo of Ondo town.
