Scarcity of Naira notes and fuel which has caused hardship in the country lately, did not stop the people in the six local government areas of Ondo North Senatorial district from turning out enmasse to participate in today’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
Our Correspondents who covered the elections in the senatorial district of Ondo North as well as three federal constituencies of
Akoko northeast/Northwest, Akoko Southeast/Southwest and Owo/Ose, report that the exercise was generally peaceful.
However there was a case of
BVAS malfunctioning at Araromi unit 7, Edo ward 1, Ikare in Akoko northeast, where the Ondo State Minority leader, Hon Rasheed Elegbeleye voted and called for timely intervention of INEC officials.
Also in Ikare Akoko, a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr Taofeeq Abdulsalam and the Special Adviser to Ondo state Governor on Environment, Mr Oyeniyi Oseni expressed joy that despite the scarcity of naira notes and fuel, voters still turned out enmasse to exercise their franchise.
After casting his vote at Ibaka Akungba ward 1, Otunba Gboyega Adefarati who is the APC Reps Candidate in the election, and at Iwaro Oka Akoko, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Debo Ologunagba, commended INEC and security agencies for almost perfect electoral process so far.
