Women in Ondo state have been challenged to be creative and embrace latest technological innovations so as to meet up with the demands of the modern world.

The President, National council for women societies, NCWS, in Ondo state, Bishop Oluwakemi Odusola gave the charge in Akure while addressing women at an event to commemorate the 2023 International women’s day.

The event with the theme, NCWS SEEKS MAINSTREAMING OF WOMEN INTO DIGITAL WORLD was held at the Babafunke Ajasin hall, Akure.

Bishop Odusola also used the medium to call on women, traders and artisans in the state to obey the supreme court verdict on the old naira notes as rejection of the notes would inflict more pains on the people in view of the lingering scarcity of cash.

Various speakers at the event charged women not to take the back seat in decision making if they want to achieve gender equality.

One of them, a former general manager, Nigeria Television Authority, NTA Akure, Mrs Tinu Olowofela urged women to always support themselves and avoid the “pull her down syndrome” always.

On her part, the senior special adviser to Governor Akeredolu on gender, Chief Mrs Olamide Falana who also encouraged women to support each others aspirations and ideas commended the federal and state government for appointing women into positions of authority such as Vice chancellors, commissioner and ministers.

Also speaking the, the wife of Ayede Ogbese monarch in Akure North Local government, Ondo State, Olori Olufunmilayo Oluyede said women should spread their tentacles to achoeve success and be more virtuous in all ways.

Several women groups such as women vanguard, FOMWAN, RED CROSS among others attended the programme.
