Ondo state government has interfaced with Central Bank of Nigeria officials in the state on the need to start dispensing the old notes immediately for customers to alleviate the long sufferings of the people
The Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa while meeting the CBN officials at the governors office want CBN to monitor banks and ensure old notes are dispense and paid out to customers with immediate effect
Responding ,Head of banking services CBN, Kennedy Nwannunu said deposit banks would continue to accept the old naira notes and pay out immediately in the state for ease of their customers.
On the Enforcement, the Special Assistant to Governor Akeredolu on special duties and strategy, Dr Doyin Odebowale berated some sharp practices amongst POS operators stressing that anyone caught will face the wrath of the law.
Odebowale warned bank officials to desist from limited cash and transactions to their customers and urge the people to collect and spend the old naira notes without fear.
