No society can achieve meaningful socio-economic development without peace snd religious tolerance.
Ondo state director, National orientation agency, NOA, Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu stated this when she led her team to the palaces of Owa Ale of Ikare, Oba Adeleke Adegbite-Adedoyin and the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh as part of the agency’s peace advocacy to the northern senatorial district of the state.
Mrs Adefolalu while addressing the monarchs noted that the ancient town of Ikare had both human and natural capable of speeding up its development if harnessed in a peaceful atmoshere hence the need for residents to live in peace at all times.
In his response Oba Adegbite-Adedoyin promised to pursue peace at all times, preach tolerance to his subjects and the need to avoid communal violence.
At the Olukare’s palace, Olori Ibiwunmi Momoh who received the NOA team on behalf of the monarch said the palace had always preached messages of peace, love and tolerance to the people for the transformation of the town and would not relent in this regard.
Earlier, the NOA boss met with members of tge Pentecostal fellowship of Nigeria PFN, in Ondo state during their meeting in Owo where she urged the religious leaders to preach against cultism, ritual killing, get rich quick syndrome among their followers, especially the youths.
PFN Chairman in Ondo State, Bishop Joshua Opayinka promised that his members they would continue to work and pray for the good of the society.
