It was another season of harvest for the All Progressives Congress APC in Ondo state as a former House of representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olumuyiwa Adu led other PDP chieftains members to defect to the ruling party.
The glamorous and colourful event held at the MKO Abiola democracy Park, Akure on Monday, had in attendance, party stalwarts, Chieftains, members of the state executive council and supporters of the defectors from their various local government areas.
Receiving the defectors to the party, the APC chairman on Ondo state, Mr Ade Adetimehin expressed joy that those joining the APC was a reflection of how accomodating the ruling party was and testimony of the unity and harmony within the party.
Mr Adetimehin also thanked all members for their relentless efforts in making sure that APC won the last general election.
He however urged them to go back their various wards and officially register as party members.
Responding on behalf of other defectors, Olumuyiwa Adu said coming to join the APC was to further strengthen the party and democracy.
He promised to join hands with APC leaders and members towards moving the party forward, adding that he would ensure that he took upon himself the welfare of all members in the next two years.
