THE Wife of Ondo state governor , Mrs Betty Anyawu Akeredolu has flagged off the 2023 maternal, newborn and child health week, MNCHW in the state
The ceremony Organised by the ondo state primary health care development agency was held at the state Mother and child hospital, Oke Aro , Akure.
Mrs Akeredolu represented by the commissioner for women affairs and development, Dr OLubunmi Oshadahun appealed to parents, and caregivers to make children under five available for immunizations program.
She also enjoined residents to continue to support the Government in delivering quality healthcare services to them.
Earlier, the commissioner for health, Dr Banji Ajaka explained that the exercise was aimed at reaching all the children under the age of five with Routine Immunization vaccines, Vitamin A supplements, de-worming tablets, Screening for Malnutrition, Birth Registration while women of reproductive age would be given multivitamins, Tetanus Diphtheria vaccine.
In a goodwill message, representative of the world health organisation in Ondo state, Mr Talaa Aladesawe commended the Ondo state government for improving the health sector.
