Governors, who served during former President Muhammadu Buhari and those recently sworn in have lauded his achievements while in office.
Led by Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to Daura on behalf of the Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, the Governors prayed God to grant him good health and long life to enjoy his retirement.
At a luncheon, the Governors marveled at the wisdom with which the former President steered the affairs of the country, which they described as hydra-headed and dynamically knotty.
The Governors cited the various interventions the former President granted to state governments to solve the myriad of problems that belaboured them, stressing that his leadership style assisted in stabilising the country.
While praising the non-partisan role the former President adopted in dealing with matters of National importance, Governor Bala Muhammad of Bauchi State, said he was truly sincere in his respect for the country’s constitution.
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State also commended the former President for improving the country’s infrastructure.
Former Governor of Sokoto State, and now a newly-sworn-in Senator, Alhaji Wamako, was also in attendance.
