Ondo State commissioner for Sports and youth development, Mr Bamidele Ologunloluwa says all plans to have a befitting stadium for the state have been put in place.

Mr Ologunloluwa stated this in Akure during a Media parley with members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Ondo state chapter.

Mr Ologunloluwa said Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was interested in the redesigning and rehabilitation of the old stadium to accommodate more fans, car park and a standard pitch to host matches.

The commissioner said funding was a major factor for the quick implementation of the work hence the need for companies and individuals with interest in sports to partner the state government in having a standard Stadium.

Speaking on the development in the camp of the state owned football clubs, Mr Ologunloluwa said Sunshine stars and sunshine queens had been motivated with bonuses, new hostel for Sunshine queens and allowances paid up to date to further inspire the players.

He gave an assurance that Sunshine stars football club against all odds would do well in the super six billed for Lagos while sunshine queens were being expected to pick a ticket for a return to the Nigeria women League in a tournament billed for next month following their relegation last season.

On the achievement made by the Rope skipping association in the state, Mr Ologunloluwa congratulated the two World Guinesss record holders, Gbenga Ezekiel and Philip Solomon alongside their technical team, pledging more support for the association.

The sports commissioner hinted SWAN members that a sports trust fund would soon be initiated to help in raising funds for overall  development of sports in Ondo state.

Present at the Media parley were  the general manager, Ondo state sports Council, Mr Henry Babatunde and other directors in the ministry of youth and sports development.
