Kano state fire service says, 16 people lost their lives, due to different disasters in the month of may 2023.
The public relations officer of the agency, Alhaji Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, made the disclosure while briefing news men in Kano.
He explained that, Kano state fire service under the leadership of Alhaji Hassan Ahmed Muhammad, rescued 92 people, from fire disasters during the month under review.
Saminu Yusif highlighted that, properties worth twenty one million, three hundred hundred and fifty thousand naira, were wiped out due to inferno in the state.
The public relations officer pointed out that, estimated properties saved in May stood at, fifty five million, four hundred and ten thousand.
He hinted that, kano state fire service received 60 fire calls, 35 rescue calls and 7 false alarms, from the 27 fire stations across the state.
Saminu maintained that, there’s a reduction on the number of lives and properties lost compared to April 2023.
He urged kano residents, to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse in water ways, to avert flooding, and abide by traffic laws to avoid accidents.
