Ondo State Government With support of WestMinister Foundation for Democracy is putting modalities in place to open a register and bill boards to publish names of Sexual and Gender Based Violence offenders in the state

The Attorney general and commissioner for justice ,Sir Charles Titiloye stated this in Akure during a conversation on Deepening the implementation of the VAPP Law in Ondo state to enhance capacity of state institution for effective implementation of the laws to promote inclusion,Gender Equality and Reverse GBV .

Sir Titiloye said that to further achieve quick justice system,the police should use the VAPP Law to charge GBV cases instead of the criminal code which have linen punishment compared to VAPP law which is highly punitive

The Attorney General harps on coordination and Documentation for effective implementation of the laws saying the judiciary was always ready to ensure quick justice system

Also speaking,A Judge of the High court ,Justice Bankole Akinwumi said the judiciary was committed to promoting law that would increase Inclusion and make that society safe for women and children.

Earlier, the Country Director , Westminster foundation for Democracy,Mr Adebowale Olorunmola empahsised the need for gender Budgeting through lobbying state Assembly to release funding at different Stages for the VAPP Law.

Also speaking the Special Adviser on Gender to the Governor ,Mrs Olamide Falana emphasized the need for every ministries agencies to work together to raise awareness and concern in rural communities in order to carry everyone along

On the State Sexual Referral Centre ,Mrs Falana said the state government was working assiduously to ensure quick commencement of the centre to serve as safe haven for GBV victims .

Also the Senior Special Adviser to the ondo state Governor Wife, Mrs Temitope Daniyan said there was the need for the society to change its perception and stereotypes against women and children ,considering their vulnerability when it comes to gender based violence .

Also speaking ,The Director of legal service, ministry of justice ,Mrs Stella Adegoke Sexual Assault offenders have been prosecuted through the VAPP law saying stakeholders should work together to ensure that no SGBV offenders are spared in the state .

Other who spoke called for synergy between stakeholders to Provide both legal ,Psycho social support to GBV Victims for quick justice system.
