About one hundred and fifty widows in Akure, Ondo State, have benefitted from the 2023 International Widows Day Outreach of Dorisoby Media Foundation, DMF.

Founder of the Non Governmental Organization, Mrs Doris Olumoko said, the Outreach is aimed at preaching the message of hope and urged the Widows to reflect on the theme of the 2023 International Widows Day which is “Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality “ and make use of technology to eradicate poverty.
The special adviser to governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on gender , Mrs olamide falana commended Dorisoby Media Foundation and Strong tower widows and orphan foundation for the Outreach.
Mrs Falana however enjoined the widows to be the strength of other widows as exemplified by Mrs Olumoko and not relent in keeping their family together.
The guest speaker and founder, joavic foundation who is a widow of over 24 years Mrs Folakemi Esan while sharing her experience admonished the Widows to focus on God, be hardworking, maintain multiple streams of income and key into the global digital village.

Mrs Esan also encouraged them to always speak up in their difficult times for there are laws protecting the rights of Widows and make their their health and children’s education a priority.
In a word of encouragement , the Parish priest , Mary queen of angels Catholic Church , Reverend Father Mathew ologun said the widows should see their present situation as part of life and should not limit themselves in the society.
The co-convener Mrs Etana Elvis -ogbebor of strong tower widows and orphan foundation said enjoined the widows to give their children a good legacy of education.
The benefitting widows who smiled home with different categories of empowerment thanked the organisers for the gesture especially at this difficult times in the country.
