The Ondo State House of Assembly has assured the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo ( UNIMED) of robust and good relationship that would enhance better academic excellence in the institution.
The Speaker of the Assembly Mr. Olamide Oladiji made the promise when the management of the university paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Monday in Akure.
Oladiji said that the 10th Assembly had a mandate to perform better than the immediate past 9th Assembly for the betterment of the state.
According to him, one of the roles of the legislative arm is to protect people of the state through legislations.
He asked the university management to approach the assembly when in need, adding that it was only through robust relationship and mutual understanding that the institution could achieve its academic goals.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of UNIMED, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, appreciated the immediate past assembly, asking the 10th Aseembly for similar cooperation.
Fatusi asked the legislature to help in improving the budget of the institution and make it accessible.
He added that the institution could not achieve its objectives without the input of the legislative arm.
