Muslims faithfuls in Kwara state have joined their counterparts all over the world to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha .
Several Muslims and other dignitaries gathered at the central praying ground for the two Raka’at Eid prayers.
In his sermon, Sheikh Abdullahi AbdulHameed who led the prayer, urged the congregation to pray for the unity and development of the country.
“Our strength lies in our unity, and we should maximize such unity and peace that we enjoy to bring more development to our state and the country in general,” he said.
In his remark on the sideline of the Eid, Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq urged the residents of the state to be their brothers keeper.
He expressed satisfaction with the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in the state.
In his message the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari warned residents of Ilorin Emirate to desist from any act that are alien to the Islamic culture of the people of the state.
He said no idolatry event should be held within the Ilorin Emirate.
