The death has occurred of a veteran Journalist, Alhaji Salim Wole Abioye.
Alhaji Abioye was a retired Deputy Director Training, Radio Nigeria Training School, now National Broadcasting Academy, Shogunle, Lagos.
He joined Radio Nigeria Ibadan in the 1960s and worked as Correspondent in Ijebu Ode, transferred to Lagos FRCN Ikoyi, in the 1980s as a member of the National Network news programme called “The Newsreel” , with Late Ben Egbuna.
Late Salim Wole Abioye was also at the State House, Dodan Baracks and covered the Hajj, Muslim pilgrimage for FRCN I984.
He was survived by a wife and 5 children, one of them, Mrs Halimat Orunsolu, a staff of Radio Nigeria Ibadan.
Born in okoh village ,Ghana in 1945, Alhaji Abioye was Aged 78 years.
He has buried at the Muslim Cemetery, Apete, Ibadan, Oyo state according to Islamic rites.
