The Federal Government says some of its workers are yet to receive their June salary due to some technical challenges.
The Director of Press of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) Bawa Mokwa, said the delay was caused by technical challenges with the Government Integrated Financial Management System (GIFMIS), one of the salary platforms.
Mokwa said the office is working round the clock to ensure that the problem is resolved.
“As we speak, the directors and the consultant in charge of the platforms are in a crucial meeting, working round the clock to resolve the problem. Anytime from now, the salaries will start to drop,” he said.
Earlier, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in a statement issued on Monday, by its Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, appealed to corps members over the delay in payment of June allowance across the country.
The management said it is aware of their worries and agitations over the delay in the payment of the allowance, adding that the delay “being currently experienced is due to the administration of funds by various banks, who are yet to credit Corps Members’ accounts.”
