The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command has reunited a minor, Aminat Muritala, female, 9 years, with her parent, Mr Muritala Mohammed.

Aminat Muritala an indigene of Ilorin in Kwara State was reported to the Command to have been found in an uncompleted building and brought to the Nawarrudeen Mosque in Iro, Akure.


Alfa Adegbayike Isiaka Badmus brought the child to NSCDC on Friday, 7th July, 2023. The Anti-Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration Unit of the command facilitated custody for the child at the Ondo State Children Home pending investigation to unravel the cause of abscondment by the girl. Also with the assistance of Radio Nigeria Positive FM, Akure, the parents were located.

From investigation, it was revealed that Aminat Muritala was handed over by her parents to Ajara Ismail, a niece who just got married as it was their custom to give a younger child to a bride after Nikah.

Aminat seems not to have been pleased with such arrangement, hence, ran away from Ajara’s house in Idanre to Iro, Akure where she was found.

Aminat has since being handed over to her father who has taken her back to Ilorin, Kwara State.
