The Former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao has urged personnel of the Nigerian Air Force to intensify their vigour and collaborate with other security agencies to curb Insecurity in the country.

He stated this in a valedictory speech at the fly out parade organised in his honour for his retirement from Service in the of the Nigerian Air Force.

 

The Nigerian Air Force pipe band escorted the blue Prado Jeep decorated with three stars convening Air Marshal Oladayo Amao and his wife Mrs Elizabeth Amao into the arena of the Nigerian Air Force Parade ground at the base in Abuja.

After taking the salute, Air Marshal Amao mounted the ceremonial range rover to review the parade mounted in his honour.

Shortly after the review, the parade consisting of four guards and Commanded by Squadron Leader, Ezra Adekunle took the stage as they performed the slow and quick march.

Born in 1965, Oladayo Amao, an indigene of Osun State started his military career with the Nigerian Defence Academy Regular course 35 in 1984 and rose through the ranks in his career.

Before becoming the 21st Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao served in various capacity ranging from Operational, Instructional, Command, Staff, Diplomatic as well as policy and strategic leadership with significant flying hours of one thousand five hundred jet and Instructional hours to his credit.

He also participated in the draw-down of the Africa-led International support mission to Mali and the counter-insurgency operations Zaman Lafiya and Lafia Dole in the North east.

In his valedictory speech, Air Marshal Amao said a lot had been achieved in the acquisition of crafts, policy formulation, capacity building of personnel and urged the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar to build on the achievements for the peace and unity of the country.

It was a moment of honour as the EC-135 NAF Helicopter landed the parade arena with all Service Chiefs both past and present with top military personnel escorted Air Marshal Oladayo Amao and his wife Mrs. Elizerberth Amao the past NAFOWA President, into the Aircraft as it flew them out of the arena.
