The traditional ruler of Nguru in Aboh Mbaise local government area of Imo state, Eze James Nnamdi has been shot dead by gunmen.
The Monarch also known as Eze Mmirioma was said to be playing host to a guest on Monday afternoon when the hoodlums stormed his palace and opened fire on them.
Reports said the Royal father was later taken to a hospital where he gave up the ghost while his guest who equally received gun shot injuries is receiving medical attention at an undisclosed health facility.
The shooting has left residents of the area in panic as the incident occurred on a day non state actors are urging people to observe their Sit-at – home order.
The Public Relations Officer Imo State Police Command Mr. Henry Okoye said the Command was saddened by the incident adding that the Commissioner of Police Mr. Muhammed Barde had ordered an investigation into the murder.
