A civic reception has been held by the people of Oro Community, in Kwara state for one of their illustrious son, the immediate past Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed

The event was attended by people from all walks of life including serving and retired public office holders, politicians, captains of industries, the academia, traditional rulers and religious leaders.

In a welcome address, the National President of Oro Community, Professor Bode Bojuwoye said they would remain ever grateful to Alhaji Lai Mohammed for the numerous development projects that he has facilitated to Oro Community and environs.

Also speaking, Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by his deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi commended Alhaji Lai Mohammed for his diligent service to the nation.

A former National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, extolled the qualities of the former minister, just as he called for unity of purpose amongst the APC family.

The celebrant and immediate past Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who was accompanied to the event by his wife, Alhaja Kudirat, children, grandchildren and other relatives said he was short of words on the honor done him by Oro Community.

Also speaking, the Director General of FRCN, Dr Mansur Liman, represented by the Zonal Director, North Central Zone, Mallam Haruna Idris lauded the former minister for his contributions while in office, stressing that he has done his best.

There were goodwill messages from heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, the Oro Traditional Council of Chiefs, represented by the Elerinmosa of Oro, Chief Matthew Oyeyiola and others.

Highpoint of the event included cultural display and presentation of gifts by individuals and groups to the former minister.

The high-powered delegation from Radio Nigeria Harmony FM, Idofian was led by the General Manager, Alhaji Abdulwahab Akoshile.
