Ondo state government says the ongoing flyover construction on the busy Akure / Owo highway at Onyearugbulem/Shagari Village junction is to be completed in the next eighteen months.
The Commissioner for lands infrastructure and housing Mr Raimi Aminu disclosed this while inspecting the project in Akure, the capital city
Mr Aminu who expressed satisfaction with the contractors said the location was chosen for the project to arrest frequent accidents and gridlock on the road.
While addressing the issue of compensation, the commissioner revealed that over three hundred million naira was paid to over fifty five claimants.
He gave an assurance that Akeredolu’s administration would continue to embark on life impacting projects to meet people’s aspirations.
The project supervisor, Mr Tosin Adebayo said steps had been taken to deliver a quality and standard job .
Addressing the team, Oba Ahmed Ajila of Irese and Oba Peter Adeleye of Aaye appreciated the government for the project and appealed for the construction of the Irese/Aye road to boost transportation activities of both people and farm produce.
