Ondo State Acting Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has shed more light on the creation of 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) announced recently by the State Government.

 

Mr Aiyedatiwa said the creation of the LCDAs was to enhance good governance  and also boost the socio-economic growth of the people at the grassroots

The Acting Governor made these clarifications when the leadership of Ondo State chapter of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) led by the Chairman, Adesanya Olaoluwa of the All People’s Party ( APP ) paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Akure

He explained that, the system of Local Government according to 1999 constitution stipulates that government of every state shall adopt section 8 of the constitution which provides for the establishment, structure, composition, finance and functions of local councils development Areas.

 

Mr Aiyedatiwa said the major task of Local Government was development at the grassroot and charged local government leaders to strive towards a culture of service and the practice of excellence.

Earlier, the IPAC Chairman, Mr Adesanya Olaoluwa commended the state government on security and infrastructural development.

 

Mr Olaoluwa also applauded the character and value of the Acting Governor by remaining focused on quality governance and providing the necessary leadership at this time.

 

The State Chairmen of eleven political Parties in the State were part of the visit.
