*Families, Friends Celebrate Pastor Samuel Babatunde Adodo @70*

It was celebration galore as people from all walks of life converged on Ekhator Party City Event Center, Benin City, Edo State, to rejoice with Pastor Samuel Babatunde Adodo as he marked his 70th birthday.

At the thanksgiving service, for the birthday celebration, Pastor, Righteousness Preaching Mission, Benin City, Bishop Dr. Sharp Okoro described the celebrant as humble, generous and always seeking the well-being of others.

Quoting from Psalms 90:10, which says, “the days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away,” the pastor advised the congregation to be good to others and also help those in need.

His younger brother, Mr. Friday Adodo of Radio Nigeria Positive FM Akure eulogized the celebrant as a wonderful personality. “My brother is such an amazing person and very generous. He’s not only been a huge blessing to me but also to everyone around him.” He disclosed.

 

Pastor Samuel Babatunde Adodo was born on the 26th July, 1953 at Ijagba town in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria.

He attended St. Paul’s Anglican Primary School, Ijagba from 1960 to 1965 for his First School Leaving Certificate and proceeded to the then L.A. Modern School, Ifon, Ondo State between 1966 and 1968.
He was at Ekamarun Anglican Grammar School, Ifon from 1969-1970, but left due to crisis that erupted in the community to complete his Secondary Education in Okpe Grammar School, Sapele, Bendel State (now Delta State) from 1971-1973.

S.B. Adodo as popularly called obtained B.Sc and Masters Degrees in Public Administration from the prestigious University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State.
He is is also a holder of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria, Professional Diploma in Storekeeping from British Career Institute, Jersey UK and also has several other diplomas and certificates.

S.B. Adodo belongs to several professional bodies such as Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management, of Nigeria (CIPSMN), Association of Industrial Services of Nigeria (AISSON), Nigeria Institute for Industrial Security of Nigeria (NIIS) and International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS).

After a two year stint with Kingsway Stores, Marina Lagos, Mr. Adodo joined the Nigeria National Oil Corporation, Apapa, Lagos.

With the merger of NNOC and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, he became a staff of NNPC.

Following the restructuring of NNPC into sectoral organizations, he was transferred to the then Oil and Gas Sector, Benin City in July 1986. He was a pioneer staff of Oil and Gas Sector’s Central Store where he served till October, 1988.

In November 2011, Pastor Adodo statutorily retired after 35 years of meritorious service.

Other well-wishers extolled Pastor Adodo as a man of integrity, humility and philanthropy who cheerfully assisted and sponsored a great number of people through secondary and tertiary institutions, secured accommodations for others and assisted many to get employments.

Dignitaries at the event included Elder Engineer Solomon Igeleke.
