A bill for a law for the creation of new local council development areas LCDA in Ondo State have been committed to committee of the whole house for proper scrutiny.
The bill was committed to the committee after scaling through the first and second reading at plenary.
The lawmakers while deliberating on the bill lauded the state governor Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for taking the step of introducing it at a time when the state is undergoing rapid development.
The lawmakers said that new LCDA’s which is long overdue are not just for effective administrative purposes but also an avenue of bringing governance and development closer to the people.
In an address by the speaker Mr Olamide Oladiji said the LCDA’S would complement the effort of the existing local government areas.
Mr Oladiji charged the lawmakers to expedite action on the bill within record time.
