The ondo state government has promised to ensure equitable disbursement of the unconditional cash transfer of #10,000 meant to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy, to the affected people of the state without any preference or bias.
The commissioner for information and orientation, Mrs Bamidele Ademola-Olateju stated this in Akure while featuring on the maiden edition of Ondo Media Agenda, organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ondo state council.
The ondo State Government had last week rolled out the palliatives, which included cash transfer of #10,000 each to 18,000 vulnerable monthly for three months across the state.
Speaking on the modalities of disbursement to the affected people, Mrs Ademola-Olateju said the state government would make use of the data generated by the world Bank and the National Bureau of Statistics to determine the vulnerable meant to benefit from the palliatives.
Mrs Ademola-Olateju assured the people of Ondo state that the government would not allow the money to get to wrong hands.
In a remark, the NUJ chairman, prince Leke Adegbite noted that the Media Agenda was organised to ensure that those in positions of power and leadership both in private and public sectors were accountable to the people of Ondo state.
