The acting governor of Ondo state, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa has asked christians and other people of Ondo to pray that the will of God prevail over ailing governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The acting governor spoke on Sunday at the Agape International Church 35th Annual Convention 2023, held in Akure with the theme The Amazing God.
The convention which commenced last Sunday, August 6th came to an end with a Thanksgiving service at the church headquarters of the Agape Christian ministry, Akure with members from all across the country in attendance alongside invited ministers of God.
Addressing the church, Mr Aiyedatiwa stressed the need for congregants to pray for governor Akeredolu, saying, “ I am calling on this congregation to lift up their voices in prayer for him.
“In case you don’t know what to pray for him when you leave here, there is nothing as powerful as the will of God.
“Because there are two things, whatever God wants to do, we can’t stop Him from doing it. What He won’t do, you can’t force Him to do it.
“But when you say let the will of God be done be done in his life, we all know that the will of God is of good and not of evil.
“So in your closet as a citizen of Ondo state, just lift up your voice to always pray for our governor that the will of God which is of good be done in his life.”
Mr Aiyedatiwa however restated government’s resolve not to restrain any religion from expressing its faith, adding that security would be strengthened for all religions in Ondo state.
The acting governor praised God for the grace that Bishop Felix Adejumo and his wife has been enjoying over the last 35 years in the ministry, praying that God will continue to strengthen them the more to celebrate many more years in life.
In a sermon, President of The Sword of The Spirit Ministries International, Bishop Francis Wale Oke also thanked God for the growth Agape Christian Ministry church had witnessed in the last 35years.
Bishop Oke pointed out that every soul that had been saved, all the miracles, and testimonies shared in the last 35 years happened through Amazing God.
He added that though there might be challenges, God would continue to rise up and prove Himself in the church.
The founder of Agape Christian ministry, Bishop Adejumo who led a prayer session for Governor Akeredolu ascribed all successes so far recorded by his ministry to God.
Highlights of the Thanksgiving service was cutting of anniversary cake.
Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, Iralepo of Isikan, Oba Olugbenga Ojo and some members of the state executive council were among eminent personalities that attended the Thanksgiving service.
