The Ondo State Directorate of National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged residents of the State to observe this Month Environmental Sanitation Exercise Slated for tomorrow Saturday 26th August 2023 between 7AM-10AM with restrictions of both human and vehicular movement.

In Statement issued from the office of Ondo State NOA Director Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu through the Public Relation officer, Ralph Oguntibeju called on the people of the state to maintain clean environment and keep to principles of hygienic surroundings which is important to well being of healthy living.

She informed members of Public on the efforts and intervention of the State govt on channelization of blocked rivers, canals, drainages, and gullies for easy passage of erosion.

The NOA boss, urged residents to stop the habit of indiscriminate dumping of refuse and specks of dirt in the gullies, drainages, canals, and rivers, saying the resultant effect leads to flooding that can destroy properties and displace residents, assured the people of government readiness to always ensure that Ondo State is safe from flooding and remain the cleanest State in the country.

She also said the State govt would henceforth take stringent measures and enforcement on improper disposal of refuse. Adefolalu called on the Community Orientation and Mobilization officers (COMOs) across the 18LGs to closely monitor the exercise and work with all relevant stakeholders in ensuring the success of the exercise.

She warned members of the public to desist from any act that can jeopardize the environmental sanitation exercise as anybody caught during the period of the sanitation shall face full wrath of the law.
