Over 350 girls have graduated from the 2023 BEMORE Summer Boot camp in Akure, Ondo state Capital.

 

The girls who were from the 18 local government areas of the state had a two week extensive training in ICT, Art & Craft, Sports, makeover, baking and lots more.

Declaring the boot camp closed, The Acting Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa commended Mrs. Akeredolu for the initiative and urged the girls to invest in their future by making use of the knowledge acquired to make a difference in the world.

The founder, BEMORE Empowered Initiative and wife of Ondo State governor, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu who joined the programme virtually expressed satisfaction with the girls’ performances during the training, describing them as a new batch of leaders already equipped by BEMORE Summer Boot Camp.

Mrs Akeredolu noted that over the last few years,the BEMORE initiative had built bridges across ethnic, religious and economic boundaries while also enlarging its empire of female champions yearly.

 

She called on well meaning Nigerians to join her in sustaining the legacy .

In an address, one of the BEMORE girls, Miss Folasewa Oladimeji while speaking on behalf of her colleagues appreciated the platform, stressing that it had opened doors of opportunities for them to contribute their own quota to the development of the state and Nigeria at large, especially in the area of technology.

In their separate remarks, a federal lawmaker from Ondo State, Mr Jimi Odimayo, and the Chairman, Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Victor Olabimtan, applauded Mrs. Akeredolu for sustaining the BEMORE vision over the years.

They also restated the significance of the program to the development of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Entrepreneurship amongst girls most especially in the state.

At the end of the two weeks training, Laptops and certificates were presented to participants while the overall best participant, Miss Faith Aina got a cash gift.

 

Highlights of the closing ceremony were display of their works,art auction, health talk, taekwondo display, choreography, Yoga display among others.

The event was attended by many dignitaries including the SSA on Health to Governor Akeredolu, Prof.Dayo Faduyile, SSA on Gender, Mrs Olamide Falana, former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Titi Adeyemi, members of FOWOSO, BRECAN among others.
