The Agbaluku-Arigidi-Erusu Akoko road in Akoko northwest local government area of Ondo state has now become a nightmare for motorists and other road users.
It was gathered that the contract for the construction of the road right from Ikare to Ajowa Akoko was awarded ten years ago by the Olusegun Mimiko’s administration but was later abandoned.
When Radio nigeria community reporter visited the area, vehicles were stuck on the road which had been taken over by mud and flood.
Both motorists, motorcyclists and pedestrians found it difficult passing through due to the deplorable state of the road linking Ondo state with northern states, particularly the federal capital territory.
Speaking with Radio Nigeria, a residents, Mr Edward Oladeinde lamented the hardship posed by the road to users and its negative effects on the economy of Akokoland.
Mr Oladeinde said residents had made several efforts, including going spiritual to draw government’s attention to the deplorable state of the Agbaluku-Arigidi-Erusu but all to no avail.

Chief Origbemisoye said markets in Erusu, ibaram,Ikaram and Ajowa were no longer patronized as a result of the bad road.
