As schools reopen for a new academic session, no fewer than five hundred school children in Ondo East and Ondo West Local government areas have benefitted from the back-to-school programme organised by the Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Oladiji Olamide Adesanmi.

The back-to-school programme was put in place to assist school children especially the underprivileged ones, in Ondo Kingdom.

Summer coaching had earlier been organised for school children at various centres across the two local government areas while prizes were given to exemplary students on the occasion.

In his address, the Rt. Honourable speaker congratulated the beneficiaries of the back-to-school empowerment programme for partaking in this year’s episode.

He described education as the only legacy a nation can bequeath her youth.

“Education is the only legacy that one can bequeath any generation. Show me a successful nation and l will show you one that prioritises the education of her youth.”

Rt. Honourable Oladiji maintained that the back-to-school empowerment project was prompted by his avowed commitment to ploughing back to the society that made him.

He pledged to continue to grow brilliant but indigent students across the nook and cranny of Ondo city with a view to making them worthy ambassadors in future.

In their various goodwill messages, speakers on the occasion, including traditional rulers and political associates attested to the philantropic disposition of the Speaker.

Scholarship was offered to the most outstanding student in this year’s summer coaching.
