The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC have declareed an indefinite and total strike from the 3rd of October over what they called non-challant attitude and refusal of the FG to take steps to assuage workers’ suffering following the petroleum subsidy removal.

At the News Conference after the Joint National Executive Council and National Administration Council Meeting of the NLC and TUC in Abuja, urged Nigerians to stock their homes with sufficient foodstuff that will last time during the period of the shutdown next week.

The two labour centres directed all their affiliates and state councils to begin mobilisation ahead of the industrial action.
