The National Assembly is to resume plenary after a six week annual legislative break.
On resumption the lawmakers are expected to Consider people oriented bills and motions targeted at enhancing the lives of the ordinary Nigerian.
Similarly,the lawmakers will commence the screening of Dr. Olayemi Cardoso as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Alongside Four other nominees for the positions of CBN Deputy Governors, who are to steer the affairs of the apex bank in the next five years.
The four deputy governors are namely Mrs. Emem Usoro, Mr. Muhammad Dattijo, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, and Dr. Bala Bello.
The Senate.on resumption will continue its interface between the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Federal Government.
The Senate has scheduled to screen the remaining 2 ministerial nominees – Dr. Jamila Ibrahim and Mr. Ayodele Olawande, respectively designated as Minister of Youth and Minister of State for Youth within by next week.
Meanwhile the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has assured Nigerians that the Present administration with the support of the National Assembly will implement policies that would promote the speedy resuscitation of moribund industries across the nation.
He explained that President Bola Tinubu is committed to ensure that moribund and abandoned industries across the country are given adequate attention to provide jobs and business opportunities for Nigerians.
According to him, the 10th Senate, will pass relevant laws that would make the industries come alive for the benefit of unemployed youth and the economic growth of the country.
