Twenty-Nine persons have been arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command for various offences including kidnapping, armed Robbery, cultism and rape.

Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Lafia, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nansel Rahman warned criminals to leave the state.

According to DSP, Rahman, out of the 29 persons, 18 were suspected kidnappers and armed robbers while 7 were arrested for rape, with four others arrested for their engagement in cultism.

He also disclosed that the suspects were arrested in different locations across the state with 4 firearms, 11 ammunition and 1 vehicle recovered from them.

“Recalled that on 24/08/2023, i paraded one Bawa Adamu 35rs and Amazing Buba 25yrs whom were arrested while planning to purchase more ammunition and one locally fabricated gun was recovered from them as exhibit; on 18/09/2023 while carrying out further investigation into the case , the suspects took the command’s Anti-kidnapping unit to their hideout located at Wassa village, Sanga LGA of Kaduna State where one AK47 rifle and six rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition that was carefully concealed in the forest were recovered as exhibits.”

In an interview, some of the suspected kidnappers Ogani Dauda and Abdulrahman Abubakar confessed to be members of a five man syndicate operating in Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga and Kokona local government areas axis.

one of the Suspects, Adamu Sani admitted to have had carnal knowledge of two daughters of his elder brother between the ages of ten and four years who were under his custody.
