The Ondo State Directorate of National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on residents of the State to observe the September Edition of Environmental Sanitation Exercise Slated for tomorrow Saturday 30th Sept. 2023 between 7AM-10AM with full restrictions of movement.
In a Press Release issued from the office of Ondo State NOA Director, Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu by the Public Relation officer, Ralph Oguntibeju urged the people of the Ondo state to come out and observe the exercise by clearing their surroundings, maintaining clean environment and keep to principles of hygienic surroundings which is key to well being of healthy living.
Mrs Adefolalu also called the attention of the public to the continuous Rain fall and the need to avoid any blockage of water channels that can lead to flooding .
She urged residents to stop the habit of indiscriminate dumping of refuse and specks of dirt in the gullies, drainages, canals, and rivers, saying the resultant effect leads to flooding that can destroy properties and displace residents, assured the people of government efforts to always ensure that Ondo State is safe from flooding and any form of diseases outbreak.
The NOA Director called on the Community Orientation and Mobilization officers (COMOs) across the 18LGs to closely monitor the exercise and work with all relevant stakeholders in ensuring the success of the exercise.
She warned members of the public to comply with the environmental sanitation extant rules as anybody caught during the period of the sanitation shall be dealt with.
