The grand finale celebration of 2023 Igboora World Twins Festival came up this week Saturday in Igboora.
The event which was extraordinarily celebrated was held at the playground of Methodist Grammar School, Igboora.
The one week long program featured series of educative, sports and traditional competitions among the Twins to attract the attention of màny dignatries both home and abroad.
In his welcome address the Chairman Igboora Community Foundation Mr Adebisi Adeniran appreciated the yearly support of Oyo state government in facilitating the programme since 2018 .
He explained that Igboora Community has set this year’s program to generate fund to support the construction of befitting Ultra modern Igboora Town Hall.
Addressing the gathering, the OLU OF IGBOORA, Oba Olajide Titiloye mentioned that current research is still confirming that throughout the World Igboora has no rival in Twins production as fifty set of twins are born in every one thousand children and that there is no compound in Igboora without set of twins..
Oba Titioye added that to crown God’s blessings and special Grace for Igboora Two sets of Twins were born in different hospitals in Igboora earlier Saturday morning before the commencement of the program..
He later implored the government to safe Igboora from epileptic supply of electricity.
In his response, the Governor of Oyo state Engineer Seyi Makinde who was physically present, expressed his delight over the impressive demonstration of the Twins during the parade session and acrobatic display.
He therefore peomised to create fast space economy by rehabilitating Igboora/Iseyin road and Igboora/ Iganna Road to link Ibarapa and Okeogun zones.
The governor also assured the people of Igboora in writing the BCOS Management for the Surveying and establishment of FM RADIO station in Igboora, for Information is Knowledge and Knowledge is Power , he concluded.
In attendance were the Oyo state Deputy governor Barrister Adebayo Lawal, Dr.Wasiu Olatunbosun Commissioner for Culture and Tourism including many Royal fathers across Oyo State.
