The Ondo State government has commended all stakeholders for being part of its success story in polio eradication.
The Permanent Secretary Ondo State primary healthcare development agency, Dr Francis Akanbiemu gave the commendation as the world commemorates Polio day.
He said it was now thirteen years that Ondo state had been declared polio free.
Dr Akanbiemu noted that this was made possible because mothers, caregivers and other stakeholders performed their roles effectively.
The Permanent Secretary also appreciated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for providing the needed support such as funding, training of health workers, awareness programmes among others, for the state to maintain its polio free status.
Dr Akanbiemu called on mothers to continue to embrace routine immunisation for their children as no child was expected to die of any vaccine preventable diseases anymore.
