As the yuletide approaches ,The Federal Road Safety Corps , Ondo State has cautioned drivers against excess speeding and overloading.
Addressing the gathering at the launch of the 2023 EMBER months road safety campaign in Akure the Ondo state capital , the sector commander FRSC ,Mr Ezekiel SonAllah highlighted over speeding and overloading as factors causing major crashes.
Mr SonAllah charged road users to value their lives while on the wheel.
Also speaking the chairman ,Ondo state park management committee Mr Jacob Adebo- Ìdájọ represented by his deputy Evangelist Festus Obasooto disclosed that henceforth commercial drivers across all motor park had been asked to stop night traveling while also engaging in regular sensitization to keep them abreast of traffic rules.
In a goodwill message the Ondo state coordinator National youth service corp NYSC Victoria Àní while appreciating the campaign announced that nysc directed corp members not to engage in night traveling due to the risks because in most cases victims often get stranded.
The Deji of Akure Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi represented by high chief Filani Folorunsho apealed to drivers to desist from taking alcohol and phone calls on the wheel.
A short drama by the NYSC road safety club on the danger of drink driving was presented during the lunch of the campaign.
Other stakeholders from the NOA, Standard organization of Nigeria,the Nigeria police,NSCDC and drivers attended the event.

Speed thrills but kills, drive responsibly and avoid overloading”
