A joint enforcement team made up of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority and the Kick Against Indiscipline officials has arrested 70 persons for dumping waste indiscriminately on the road sides.
The spokesperson for the state Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Kunle Adeshina, made this known in an X post on Friday.
Sharing photos from the operation, Adeshina wrote, “In a sting operation on Wednesday night across different locations led by LAWMA MD/CEO, Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, joint enforcement teams arrested over 70 people for dumping waste indiscriminately on the road sides under the cover of darkness.
“The team which included KAI operatives patrolled areas like Lawanson, Ijesha, Isolo, Agege Motor Road, and Apapa Road, with the Managing Director, Dr Muyiwa Gbedegesin promising that the action would not be a one off exercise.”
