Owo High School Old Students’ Association, OHSOSA says it will engage Ondo State government on finding lasting solutions to low enrollment in public schools.
The Association’s President, Dr Foluso Falaye said this while speaking with newsmen on the sideline of the 60th Anniversary of Owo High School, Owo.
Dr Falaye noted that the Old Students’ Association had over the years put in place measures at reaching out to their Alma Mata by contributing meaningfully to the development of the school through endowment and sponsorship of indigent students.
According to him, the Association had expended over one hundred million on infrastructure development in the school and are still working on some other laudable projects.
Dr Falaye commended Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu through the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Mr Raimi Aminu for the construction and asphalt overlaying of the school access road.
Rolling out lists of the development projects, Global Chairman 60th Anniversary Planning Committee, Prince Adewale Amakaye-Ojomo mentioned Renovation of Chemistry laboratory, equipment, furniture, SS3 block, Biology and Physics Laboratories and Principal office with Admin block.
Prince Amakaye-Ojomo also mentioned Volleyball and badminton courts, Solar-powered streetlights, Corpers lodge, 20 Magnetic boards with markers.
Others include Construction of ultramodern rest rooms, tow point five million naira support for ICT training of teachers and students, Executive Tables and Chairs for the teachers, Renovation of Staff Room and two thousand desks and chairs.
The Association also has proposed projects which include Renovation of School Hall, Construction of Main Gate, Library and Ultra modern hall & Event Center through fund raising.
The 60th Anniversary activities will run from Monday 6th November, 2023 and will feature variety show, Walk, Exhibition, career & mentoring day, Novelty match, Dinner & Awards and will climax with Juma’at and Church Thanksgiving services on Friday and Sunday respectively.
