The 2023 ONDO STATE INTERNATIONAL AGRIC SHOW AND FOOD FAIR “OSIAFFA” organized annually by the Ondo State Agricultural Commodities Association, OSACA is here again.
It holds between 21st to 23rd November, 2023 with the theme – Agricultural Commodities, Basic instruments for economic and industrial revolution at the international event centre , the dome , igbatoro road in Akure the Ondo State capital.
Going down memory lane , the organizer, OSACA started this laudable program with celebrating annual World food day and later expanded it to an Agric Show and Food Fair in 2019 making it an international event in 2021, when it metamorphosed to ONDO STATE INTERNATIONAL AGRIC SHOW AND FOOD FAIR “OSIAFFA”
OSIAFFA 2022 tagged ” ENTRENCHING PROPER STRUCTURES FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRIBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT” was an improvement on that of 2021 with the theme ” SUCCESSFUL AGRIBUSINESS IN CHALLENGING TIMES” in which about 2000 participants were recorded which cut across exhibitors, guest speakers both local and international, members of various value chains, students and members of the public.
The event became International with participants attending from within and outside the country.
It also had different master classes such as production of maggots through *black soldier flies, bee keeping, grass cutter classes etc.
The event has been held consistently at the INTERNATIONAL CULTURE & EVENT CENTER ,THE DOME and live streamed also usually covered by various media in the state.
This year’s event is expected to surpass the previous ones as more participants are expected. OSIAFFA ’23 is targeted at recording more success in terms of exhibitors, ads placement on the brochure and sponsors.
This year’s event will be celebrating Cocoa in all ramifications in collaboration with the Ondo State Cocoa Council which serves as an umbrella for the Cocoa value chain in Ondo State.
Cocoa is having a special focus during this year’s event just as Oil Palm ,Red Gold was in focus last year.
OSIAFFA has a goal of showcasing the various agricultural value chains in Ondo state and thereby encouraging the masses most especially the young graduates to see agriculture as a great cash cow instead of searching for white colar jobs.
