The Ondo State house of assembly has vowed to continue to work with the present executive arm of government in the state and abide by the peace accord reached with the presidency last week.
The speaker , Mr Olamide Oladiji gave the pledge while briefing the plenary on the terms of the peace accord .
He called on warring factions in the state to sheathe their swords and embrace peace.
The speaker warned political gladiators fanning embers of violence to desist threatening that the house of assembly would not hesitate to call them out.
There have been growing calls in certain quarters that the deputy governor , Lucky Ayedatiwa be pronounced as acting governor in the absence of the ailing Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu contrary to the said deal reached with the presidency over the matter.
Meanwhile, the House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of interim management committee chairmen and vice chairmen for the 18 local governments areas and 33 Local council development areas of the state consisting
51 chairmen and 51 vice chairmen
The confirmation was sequel to the submission and consideration of a report by the house committee on selection after screening the appointees.
The deputy speaker , Prince Abayomi Akinruntan said the nominees were found fit enough to occupy the positions .
The speaker , Mr Oladiji explained that the appointment of interim management committees to head the local government areas and the local council development areas was necessary to pilot the affairs of the councils following the expiration of the tenure of the previous elected chairmen.
He charged the interim management committees to shun all forms of corruption, be dedicated and bring development to their areas .
Responding on behalf of the interim management committees , Mr Jimoh Adebayo thanked governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for giving them the opportunity to serve and promised not to disappoint the people.
