President Bola Tinubu has participated in the Jumat Prayer with the Muslim community at the Ansar Ud Deen Central Mosque in the Surulere area of Lagos.
The Jumat Service was organized to celebrate the centenary of the Ansar Ud Deen Society of Nigeria.
After observing two Rakat Jumat prayers, President Tinubu appreciated Ansar Ud Deen Society for promoting the teachings of Prophet Mohammed, peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance in the country over the last one hundred years.
The President thanked the Muslim community for their support during the last general election.
During the sermon, Sheikh Abdul-Rahman Ahmad, the Chief Missioner of Ansar Ud Deen Society stated that it was imperative for the government to implement policies and programmes for the betterment of lives of the entire citizenry.
He also asked the government to find lasting solution to the scarcity of Naira notes in the bank, which is causing hardship to citizens.
The Ansar Ud Deen Chief Missioner also appealed to Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper, shun acts that can inflict hardship on others and urged them to pray for their leaders.
Sheikh Ahmad highlighted the contributions of Ansar Ud Deen Society of Nigeria to the development of education, healthcare and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
He noted that prominent Nigerians have benefited from the education pillar of the society.
Sheikh Ahmad led the congregation in prayers for God’s guidance for President Tinubu, other government functionaries and the country at large.
