President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration is working hard and determined to take Nigeria through tunnel of hope, stability and successful economic prosperity.
President Tinubu who stated this when he was hosted to a State Banquet at the Lagos House, Marina, called for the support of all stakeholders in the fight against terrorism, poverty and to provide education and ensure food security at the state and local government levels.
Welcoming the president to the banquet, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended President Tinubu for his exemplary, focused leadership style, saying he remains uan ndisputed creator of modern Lagos.
The governor said his acceptance to serve and represent the state at the federal level as President of the nation was laudable.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who expressed support for President Tinubu’s reforms noted that amid global challenges, the President hit the ground running, showed audacity of hope and resolved to take Nigeria to a greater levels.
The Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa urged the President to ensure legislative independence in every state of the Federation as exemplified in Lagos State by his administration as former Governor of the State.
On behalf of the traditional rulers present at the event, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi pledged the unflinching support of the traditional Institution to the President, expressing belief in his capacity and absolute commitment to take the country to an enviable status.
He urged the President to push for a special status for Lagos State to further boost its economic prosperity and to resolve the issue of the thirty seven local council development areas which he created as governor of Lagos State twenty years ago.
A minute silence was observed in honour of the late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
