A new Oludofian of Idofian has been installed.
He is Oba Jamiu Olarenwaju Adedamola Omikunle.
Oba Jamiu Olarenwaju Adedamola Omikunle was today presented a staff of office by the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq at a ceremony which was held at the courtyard of Ministry of Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs in Ilorin.
The new Oludofian is the Chief Executive Officer of Great Height Metal Works Limited situated in Lagos.
At the ceremony, Governor AbdulRasaq, represented by the Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftancy Affairs and Community Development, Alhaji Abubakar Bata, urged the new Oludofian to promote peace and progress amongst his subjects.
The Governor who affirmed that his administration has given due recognition to traditional rulers since assumption of office, called on the newly installed Oba Omikunle to key into government’s developmental policies to empower members of his community.
He prayed for him to live long on the throne of his forefathers.
Earlier, the Transition Implementation Committee, TIC Chairman, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Prince Asonibare Jide, congratulated Oba Jamiu Adedamola Omikunle and urged him to unite all members of the royal families who contested the kingship with him in the interest of Idofian community.
In an acceptance speech, the fourty-four year old Oludofian of Idofian, Oba Jamiu Olarenwaju Adedamola Omikunle pledged to be a peace maker and a good representative of his people.
The ceremony also witnessed the installation and presentation of staff of office to the new Elekan of Ekan in Oke-Ero Local Government Area, Oba Olaniyan David Adekunle.
The event was attended by traditional rulers, government functionaries, families, friends and well wishers of the newly installed kings.
