The new Diocese of Methodist Church Nigeria, Idanre is to be inaugurated on Sunday, 14th January, 2024 by the Prelate of the church, the Most Reverend Oliver Aba.

The chairman planning committee for the Inauguration ceremony and Baba ijo of Methodist Church, Idanre, Chief kola Ademujimi announced this on a live interview programme, POLITICAL PODIUM on Positive F.M Akure.

Chief Ademujimi explained that the event would be in three parts namely, inauguration of the diocesan bishop-elect, Right Reverend Mathew Falade enthronement of the Bishop as well as the presentation of the pioneer Lay President, Chief Akinbamidele Akinnagbe, the permanent Secretary, Ondo SUBEB.

He said “the event is in three phases firstly, Inauguration of the bishop, secondly, enthronement of the bishop and the third very important event on that day is the presentation of the lay president who is no other person than a son of the soil, tested and trusted Chief Akinbamidele Akinnagbe.”

Ademujimi, the Chief of staff to former Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko explained that the prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, the Most Reverend Abah would lead the conference of ministers to preside over the event.

Giving a run down of activities for the weekend event, Chief Ademujimi said the Prelate-in-council would arrive Ondo state on Friday and would pay a courtesy visit to the governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Saturday, 13th January, 2024.

According to him, the Prelate will also visit the Owa of Idanre kingdom, Oba Fredrick Adegunle Aroloye on the same day and later to be hosted to a welcome party tagged “PRELATE NIGHT“.

Chief Ademujimi added that the programme would climax on Sunday, 14th January 2024 with the inauguration of the diocese, enthronement of the bishop and presentation of the lay president at the Methodist cathedral, along mission road, Odode Idanre by 10 o Clock in the morning.
