The Imo state Governor Hope Uzodinma and his Deputy, Chinyere Ekomaru, have been sworn in in office to serve another four-year tenure.

 

The swearing-in ceremony took place in Owerri, at the Dan Anyiam stadium.

Ekomaru was sworn in for the first time as deputy governor, she replaced Placid Njoku, who was dropped by Governor Uzodinma, ahead of the November 11, 2023 Imo governorship election.

Among the dignitaries who witnessed the swearing-in were the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, All Progressives Congress, APC, National chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, host of governors across party lines and members of the National Assembly members.
