The Governor of Ondo State, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa has promised to collaborate with religious groups in the state for enhanced development.
Governor Ayedatiwa made the pledge in Idanre at the inauguration ceremony of the pioneer bishop of Idanre diocese of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Right Reverend Mathew Falade.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy chief of staff, Mr. Segun Omojuwa, said the church and government shared the same similar objective of developing the society and the people, except for the fact that the church or other faiths go a bit further to ensure the salvation of souls.
He thanked the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His eminence, Dr Oliver Alli Aba for approving the diocese for Idanre and also congratulated the newly enthroned Bishop of the Diocese of Idanre.
Governor Aiyedatiwa promised to contribute towards the progress and development of the new diocese which he opined would go a long way in developing the church.
Earlier during his sermon, the newly enthroned Bishop, Rt. Reverend Matthew Falade advised His Excellency, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa to be God fearing because he has received the favour of God, hence he should people friendly policies.
